Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of skills, such as being able to act, direct production, create plays teaching, as well as be the Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, being the daughter of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" who hails originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of productions as a young girl as well as watching her mother at work. At the beginning of her career Anna appeared in a number of commercials on television. Anna moved to Toronto in Ontario in order to pursue acting. The decade that followed, she eventually made the move in Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman met Anna at an Los Angeles actor's workshops in 2007. They were engaged. Anna, who had converted to Judaism by then, and Seth Cooperman were married in December 2010 in Fredericton.
