Lucy Liu is an American actress voice actress director producer and singer. Being a smart and beautiful actress, she serves as a role model to many Asian actors who are in Hollywood that want to be successful. After a series of initial appearances in some popular series her fame was boosted by joining the cast of the legal comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the malicious Ling Woo. She translated her newfound fame into roles for the big screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. In Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an impressive performance in the role of Japanese crime boss O-Ren Ishii. In this period she was the main character in several flops in the field such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was an actor in voice for animated films including Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's role as a character in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen film, failed to produce results. Southland was a highly acclaimed police drama that Liu starred regularly and has helped her regain her status as a renowned actor. Liu selects her roles carefully so as to avoid being stereotyped in an industry with a lot of competition. Although she is adamant about her heritage but it doesn't mean she has to be when it comes to her career being an artist.
